1. Why Include Hobbies at All?

Adding hobbies or interests to a CV can give employers a glimpse into your personality and soft skills—especially useful if you’re early in your career or applying for people-focused roles.

2. Choose Relevant or Positive Interests

Focus on interests that say something good about your character. For example, team sports can show collaboration, while writing or blogging shows communication skills.

3. Be Specific

Instead of “reading” or “music,” write something like “personal development books” or “playing acoustic guitar.” This gives your CV more flavour and helps avoid sounding generic.

4. Don’t Overdo It

The hobbies section should be short—two or three bullet points is plenty. Keep it neat and at the bottom of your CV.
